No “Assault Weapons” Ban Petition:

WHEREAS: The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Article 1, Section 8 of the Florida Constitution clearly states, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed;” and

WHEREAS: “Assault Weapon” bans outlaw the ownership of firearms based solely on cosmetic features, effectively banning rifles, shotguns, and handguns commonly used for hunting, self-defense, and sport shooting; and

WHEREAS: These laws are a clear infringement of the U.S. and Florida Constitutions and do not make Floridians safer, but rather needlessly turn countless law-abiding citizens into criminals for simply owning a firearm with features arbitrarily deemed “scary.”

THEREFORE: I respectfully urge you to OPPOSE any so-called “Assault Weapons” ban in Florida. Florida Gun Rights will keep me informed of your actions.
